Trustee Bob Holmes

Bob Holmes – I’m proud to have served as a Surrey School Trustee since 2014. During my past 12 years as Trustee, I’ve served on a variety of district committees, and am currently chair of the Finance & Audit Committee.

I’ve also have a wide range of involvement at the provincial level, currently serving as Vice-President of the BC School Trustees Association, now in my fifth year on that board. This has provided me the opportunity to elevate the Surrey perspective, as part of the provincial voice, in many meetings with Ministers, Ministry staff, and a variety of other education partners. Advocacy for all students has been my driving force for the past 20+ years.

Prior to my time as School Trustee, I was a District PAC board member for 9 years, including President and Co-President for 4 1/2 years, and I sat in numerous executive roles on elementary and secondary PACs for 11 years.

I would be honoured to serve as a Surrey School Trustee for another 4 years, continuing to support our students, teachers, support staff, and administrators in making Surrey the great School District that it is. I would continue to do all I can to see that Surrey receives its share of funding and that the pace of new school constructions is accelerated as much as possible. If reelected, I look forward to once again attending dozens of community, district, and school events every year, in addition to the important committee and board meeting work that ensures all our diverse students have an equitable, safe, caring environment to learn in, led by our fantastic teachers, support staff, and administrators.
